First Nations players are eligible for free Annual Player Registration while playing in an SSB competition at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. Note this does not include a jersey and Team Fee contributions must still be paid.

Redfern competitions are for players aged 18 years and over.
Mixed games consist of two 17-minute running-clock halves and generally take approximately 40–45 minutes to complete.
Teams must have at least two men and two women on the court during play. Men are not permitted to block women’s shots at the basket.
SSB aims to provide two referees and a dedicated bench staff member for each game. Teams are never expected to do bench duty.
Points, rebounds, steals, assists and blocks are recorded and uploaded to each player’s online profile.
Jerseys in your team’s custom design are available as part of the $86 Annual Player Registration option.

There are two fees: the Team Fee and Annual Player Registration.
For a team with eight players, total fees generally work out to approximately $15–$20 per player, per game.
– The total team cost displayed above is for the whole team for the season. It is not a per-player fee. Teams generally divide this cost between their players.
– The $200 Team Nomination payment forms part of the total team cost and is paid when nominating.
– Annual Player Registration costs $86 with a jersey in your team’s custom design or $56 without a jersey.
– First Nations players are eligible for free Annual Player Registration while playing at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.
– Players can participate in multiple Sydney Social Basketball leagues using the same active Annual Player Registration.
– There are no additional weekly game, referee or bench fees.
New teams must pay the remaining Team Fee within 14 days of being accepted. Returning teams must pay by Round 3 of the new season.

Annual Player Registration lasts for 12 months from the player’s next game after payment. During this period, the player can participate in multiple Sydney Social Basketball leagues without paying another registration fee.
First Nations players seeking free Annual Player Registration for a Redfern competition should contact SSB before making payment.
Basic injury insurance may reimburse 75% of eligible non-Medicare medical expenses arising from an injury sustained during a game, up to a maximum benefit of $1,200.
An intention to claim must be reported directly to the insurer within 28 days of the injury. Please email info@sydneysocialbasketball.com.au for further information.
